FEEF Selects Student Advisory Council
Recognizing that students often have great ideas for their schools, Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation recently selected 28 students for a newly created student advisory council. The students, from Fairhope public schools grades three through 12, will meet monthly beginning in mid-January, sharing ideas and suggestions for ways FEEF can enhance education in Fairhope. Representatives were chosen from more than 100 applications submitted to FEEF. “This is an opportunity to give students a voice,” said Robin Coleman, FEEF’s student advisory chair. “We look forward to hearing the group’s ideas, choosing the best proposals and implementing them in our schools.”
The student representatives are Beau Priester and Alayna Summersell from Fairhope Elementary School; Kendall Buck, Jacoline Howard, Grace Tarver, Charles Yow and Cairo Plauch from Fairhope Intermediate School; Samuel McCollum, John Overton, Breyonka Knight, Reese Wolfe, Anne Brooks Puckett, Savannah Street, Carson Herndon and Madilyn Warner from J. Larry Newton School; Jacob Astralaga, Khaki Bates, Charleen Firlus and Natalie Seay from Fairhope Middle School; and Caroline Chambliss, Jacob Champion, Mary Grace Bedwell, Simon Boles, Anna Grace Claunch, William Parker Hays, Morgan Lockhart, Elizabeth Zimmerman and Zach Corbett from Fairhope High School.
